“ Ordered a chicken shawarma, aladin fries, and lamb & beef gyro and my total was $39, the fries were delicious and so is the chicken shawarma, the gyro was a solid 6-7/10 for me I would go back to get the chicken shawarma and fries if I were to come back. ”
“ Great Gyro in the U District. I was looking for a quick delicious meal on a lunch break. The gyro had ample meat, veggies, and sauce. I was full for a long time. The gentleman who was running the place was nice and efficient. ”
“ I stopped by this place to pick up the Gyro, and I had to get the Greek Fries along with that I’m aware that this place has a reputation for being the classic late night spot for UW students after a night of drinking. While I wasn’t in that state when I had my meal, I can see how it could serve as an unimaginably good intoxicated meal Firstly on the gyro, I thought this was really good. The outside of the pita bread was grilled well, while the inside was pretty soft. I think I prefer both sides to be grilled, but it was still high quality bread I also really enjoyed the beef inside. It was really plentiful - there were a lot of pieces - and they were also quite flavorful. It was easy to pull the pieces apart and the fat in the meat really came through with the rotisserie-style cooking Couple small nitpicks, though - I think the lettuce in the middle was a little excessive, and I would’ve liked a little more tzatziki spread on the gyro, as it was slightly dry at parts The feta cheese on here blended in really well with the meat Moving onto the greek fries, these were the highlight of the meal. A beautiful combination of fries, garlic sauce, and feta cheese combined to create something irresistibly addicting that I couldn’t stop eating despite the huge portion. Each fry was soft without being soggy, and it’s hard to describe how amazing it is when the sauce soaks the fries in the fatty, garlic-y, cheesy, flavor that it possesses. The toppings transformed pretty much all the fries until the very bottom, making the vast majority of this unbelievably good It’s natural to compare this to Sultan’s Grill basically right across the street, as they both serve very similar food. Here’s my take - as far as the gyro goes, I think I prefer Aladdin’s slightly. While Sultan’s has more sauce on theirs, I think Aladdin’s stuffs more toppings in and addition of feta cheese. Also, the Aladdin’s wrap feels more put together What I think Sultan’s does better though, is the greek fries, and this is primarily due to the amount of garlic & tzatziki sauce they use. The extra amount of sauce gives it that much more flavor that carries it over the top For the price, I did end up paying around $20 for both the gyro and fries, but it was a significant amount of food, and I definitely got more than my money’s worth for it. Just the gyro by itself is quite filling Overall, a really good gyro and fantastic greek fries from a place that’s more than just a late night spot. 8.75/10 ”
